Big Brother 2001 - Lisa the fence sitter
... or "She may be boring, but hey, she's famous!"

Thursday 28th June, 2001

Following up on their popular visit from Big Brother's Todd, the Aussie decided to grab Lisa while she was in town visiting friends. I've gotta admit, Lisa wasn't my favourite housemate, but she was far from the worst, and well, hey, she's more famous than I'll ever be. But Adrian thinks she's just peachy, so it was that we three, being myself, Braden and Ade headed off to the Aussie to rub shoulders with the insanely famous.

We bumped into Ade's sister and our good friend Renae at the Aussie.
The terrible trio. Note Adrian looking incredibly suave.
Adrian demonstrating his uncanny knack of looking drunk in every photo he's in. By this time, we were getting annoyed at Lisa's lack of doingstuffness. Eventually Braden said "Stuff this!" and went up to Lisa and basically said "So what are you doing here?"
Lisa replied with "Oh, I have friends in Shepp, and the Aussie asked me to make an appearance and sign some autographs and stuff." And we were like "Well?". So I managed to get this pic of Lisa with Braden, before she got called onto the stage.
Sorry for the crappiness of these two photos. Lisa was called onto the stage to host a Big Brother auction, selling a Big Brother prize pack, consisting of a BB T-shirt (signed by Lisa), a Channel 10 drink bottle (signed by Lisa), a Channel 10 cap and a BB pen.

The money raised from the auction was to go to 'The Lost Dogs Home', the boring-yet-worthy charity chosen by Lisa. What a generally crappy night this was turning out to be. The bidding got up $110, then something happend which made the night infinately better...

Adrian placed a bid for $115, winning the auction! I was in a state of disbelief for a while, then realised how utterly cool this was.
After shelling out many dollars, Ade reckoned he deserved a photo... Lisa was happy to oblige.
Then the Channel 10 guy doing the auction said he would take a photo of us all with Lisa. It turned out pretty good, so I was happy. At least I was in one photo with her.
Ade + Bag-O-Goodies = Super Happy Ade Smileys!
Ade went through the bag and found that the hat was not signed, so he took it up to Lisa and said "I think I got a bit ripped off here. This isn't signed!". She apologised and signed the white inside part of the hat". Ade said "That's okay. And I didn't think you were boring at all... These two did though", pointing at me and Braden. Bastard... heheh... She replied "That's okay, I'm over it."
Best photo of the night! Lisa managed to drag Ade on the dance floor, and I thought it would be a good photo opportunity. As I prepared to take the photo, a little handicapped dude came out and started dancing with Lisa. Lisa apologised with "Sorry, I can't get rid of him". Now, I'm not making fun of the little dude, but this photo is priceless... especially the look on Ade's face.
On our way out, we again ran into Renae, who was happy to model the signed Big Brother T-shirt.

That's the lot. I hope more evictees come to Shepp. I'd love to expand this section into a collection. It feels a bit weird though, collecting pics of me with these ordinary people like they're freakin' Pokemon. Oh well... After I got home, a pretty funny incident happened between me and Gracie, but that's a totally different story.
